Purpose
The attempt to find a relationship between ecstasy and the effect it may have on the cognitive function of humans has been tested various times. A number of studies have associated the use of MDMA with a decrease in cognitive function but other reports show that these studies lack a particular set of procedures that might limit their results. This study intends to investigate the possible relationship between the consumption of ecstasy and high-level cognitive functions. This research focused on the effect in a higher degree of internal mental processes giving emphasis only to the ability to learn and remember information, plan, focus, and use language. The use of a larger group of individuals to be examined is in attempt to rule out any possible variables that may positively or negatively correlate with the dependant and independent variables and to improve the numerical results.
