There are always problems when a manager hires close friends and family members. It creates an unprofessional work environment. The majority of the problems arises from the manager who practices favoritism, retaliation and bad working environment.
Favoritism is one of the main problems when the manager has close friends and family working for him. For example, not dispensing the work evenly. Like giving the easy work to his friends and family, also bending rules for example giving warnings or write ups, he much rather keep it in the down low and in the promotional status he is always going to look for his closest friend and family even though they aren’t as productive as the other workers.
The other reason why is not good for managers to hire friends and family is retaliation. For example, you can’t speak freely if you have a suggestion that goes against the manager, the friends and family takes it as an insult, and then if you upset the friend or family member the manager......
