Objective of the Review

The objective of this review was to analyze the effectiveness of holistic nursing care on acute and chronic pain relief. After reviewing the research, the goal was to build a recommendation about whether to use available evidence in nursing practice. Holistic nursing looks to alleviate pain without powerful medications or surgical interventions. The use of interventions such as massage therapy, hypnosis, biofeedback, music, spirituality, and acupuncture are typically associated with holistic nursing. Holistic care essentially refers to caring for the whole person, including their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. It is a comprehensive approach using a combination of both traditional and alternative therapies (Kempe, 2005).
