I, as most people do, tend to support legislation that is designed to better the public school system; unfortunately, the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLBA) has taken the education system two steps back. Due to the disastrous state of the public schools in this area, my husband and I enrolled our 3 oldest children in a private school. Our youngest child will also be enrolled in the same private school when she is old enough for Kindergarten. Placing a child in a public school is a gamble at best, and that is not a gamble that we are willing to take with our children’s future. To stop the bleeding that is happening at every level within the public school system, congress and the President need to sit down and change this law. Without change, the future of our publicly educated children is bleak at best.
