Finally the media’s obsession with Michael Vick had died down; O.J. Simpson has caught America’s attention by receiving a guilty conviction that has been put off since September of 2007. He was charged with numerous felonies. It seems reasonable that these events not only enhance racism, but it also strengthens the negative attitude towards minorities. Now with the presidential election only a couple weeks away, one question lingers in the minds of Americans: how does racism affect minorities in our society?
In reality, it won’t have much effect. Even though our nation is experiencing an economical crisis, the situation will become better. Unfortunately for racism, its national dilemma will never see a positive light. Although there are Americans that welcome the melting pot idea, as there has always been, the degrading of non-white races will always continue. Minorities can’t melt the way society wants them to.
