“To Kill a Mockingbird” is about a portrayal of childhood innocence and racial tolerance and violence that takes place in the 1930s.. The film begins by portraying the innocent world of a six year old white girl name Scout Finch and her ten year old brother, Jem, and a neighborhood boy named, Dill. The children often wonder and fantasize about the so called “boogeyman” who lives in a mysterious house in their neighborhood. The children often play games around the house and try to see who lives in the mysterious, dark home. Scout and Jem’s father is an widowed attorney name Atticus that has courageously decided to defend a black man, Tom Robinson, who was falsely accused of raping a White southern woman. Although racism is sure to doom the Black man from being acquitted, Atticus takes on the trial. The children are taunted and ridiculed as their father prepares to defend an innocent black man. .
