Over the course of American history we have experienced many great ordeals and have learned from many great men. Our founding fathers came from an era that was crucial in determining our place in the world, and also to making America our own. When British forces decided to seize control of the colonies and influence the will of the king unto the people, many men stood up in defiance. And when the bullets started flying and the country was divided, many men united us under the notion of an American nation. Men like George Washington, men like Marquis De Lafayette. Most Americans have heard the great tales of General Washington, of his victories and defeats, and of his presidency. Few Americans however, know of an important young General from France who stood by Washington and helped forged this great nation of ours through gunpowder and iron.
