As the 2008 presidential election approaches, many Americans, have been taking the time out to stop and really think, what are the qualities that make an excellent president? Perhaps it is a straightforward mentality that accounts for a good president, or better yet, an eager desire to strive for achievement with sole ambition. Most importantly, one would say, would have to be competency. While competency may be easy to detect, it should be no question that a president, without a doubt, must have at least some type of superior intellectual ability. In essence, these characteristics, among others, are only a few that are naturally essential.
As Norman Mailer would say, a great president should not deliver contradictions, but rather a convincing tone. However, through his tone, he should instill not only pride in his fellow Americans, but rather hope for a consistently improving economy; one that will strive to improve imperfections and celebrate in the face of triumph.
