The human sexual response cycle is a four-stage model of physiological responses during sexual stimulation. These phases, in order of their occurrence, are the excitement phase, plateau phase, orgasmic phase, and resolution phase.
The first phase in the sexual response cycle is the excitement phase. In this phase the male will get an erection and the female will experience vaginal lubrication and both will experience myotonia and an increase in heart rates, and blood pressure. Another thing that both the male and female will experience is their nipples becoming erect.
Males in the first phase also experience their scrotal skin thicken and becoming less baggy, the testes increase in size and become elevated. This will all happen within the first three to eight seconds after sexual stimulation begins.
