Many of our animals today are becoming extinct or endangered at an alarming rate, which has not occurred since their beginnings. I will cover various aspects of extinct and endangered species including definitions, the protection programs. Next I will present information on one endangered specie, the Asian elephant.

Ecologists and Biologists both believe that monitoring and maintenance of our environment and our many species is essential for a healthy world, present and future, as well as, a long-term economic well being for man. Biologists know that all living and non-living things on earth are all connected in a healthy type of “life web” and if this web is altered or damaged than biological consequences will occur. For instance the pollution of the coastal waters of Florida is killing the coral reefs......
