Pharmacies in the Albuquerque area have created a competition with each other by creating prescription plans for their customers. All of these plans differ in price, benefits, and the amount of content offered. But do these plans really help? Is it really worth paying extra for one of these plans? The business of pharmacies and the people of Albuquerque have been affected by the overall competition.
What exactly are these plans? They are a way for patients to pay for and receive their medication for a lower price. They are meant for those who are uninsured. Each company has their own plans, some similar too each other and some very different from each other. Smith’s and Wal-Mart offer almost identical plans, each with a 30 day supply for four dollars, a 90 day supply for ten dollars, and they both offer about 350 different generics along with no annual or upfront fee. Walgreens offers a plan for an annual fee of twenty dollars a year......
