For thousands of years hemp had been humanity’s friend. It provided humans with many things they needed. It was used for paper, rope, textiles and countless other things people of the time used, and in colonial America, you could pay your taxes with it. But if it served humanity so well in the past why is hemp so demonized today? Bad publicity, human greed, racism, and ignorance are the main causes.
As far back as 8000 B.C. man used hemp to make cloth. The oldest surviving piece of paper made over 2000 years ago was made of hemp, it was found in China. The pharos used hemp in the construction of the pyramids in 2500 B.C. (Yurchey)
