Proportional and Winner-take-all are two systems that are used in our country. The Democrats and the Republicans are the parties that use it. The Democrats are the ones that use the Proportional and the Republicans use the winner-take-all. Lets talk a bit about the difference of the two systems in order to get a better understanding on the two systems.
The Proportional, which is used by the Democrats, is a system where the Democratic Party awards delegates to the candidate. They award them by using the percent of votes that the candidates have won from the state. This makes the state vote for the better-suited candidate to be the nominee for running for presidency. This will have more people vote then the winner-take-all system. Now we should talk about the winner-take-all system and explain why this system will have lower voting by the people then the proportional system.
