Over one thousand million people use English everyday. English has become he most internationally used language ever recorded. All air traffic control uses English, as well as all coast guards. English is now used as a lingua Franka to communicate for business and other important transactions. Today more than half of the worlds magazines are printed in English, and more than eighty percent of computer data is in English. This language has spread so quickly and yet very few know just how wide spread it is.
Public school English or BBC English, is barely one hundred years old. This version of English was first heard in boys schools at Harold and Winchester. The Public School English took boys from different regions and social backgrounds and gave them all the same accent. This accent is normally associated with wealth, or a person that speaks this way may be looked at as being better looking or smarter than others.
