In a period of time before the whole world was known to everyone, and everyone studied from the same map including all six continents of the world, there were lots of European explorers, who wanted to accomplish exactly that: find and explore new land. One of those explorers during the 16th century, which was also the golden time of the exploration, was Christopher Columbus. He was born in Italy, sailed although under Spanish flag[2], and was financed by King Ferdinand II of Spain. Nowadays, Columbus is considered the explorer of the Americas and is honored with many parks, statues and even cities called after him. Christopher Columbus should not be as celebrated as he is, because of, firstly what Columbus did, would have been accomplished anyways, secondly of all the bad impact he had, and finally the genocide of a whole empire.
