The road to nation building has been rocky for the people of Palestine since its start. The country of Palestine is trying to build their nation on the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, which is located around Israel. Unfortunately, Israeli people are building settlements in the West Bank without the consent of Palestinians.
What is nation building one might ask? Nation building in the process of establishing municipal order and government functions in countries that are rising from a period of war and other types of turmoil. Societies with a strong national identity, a mostly homogenous ethnic population, and relative socioeconomic egalitarianism, are usually the best candidates for nation building. Luckily, Palestine is one of these societies. Nation building is important to countries because a strong state is necessary in order to provide security and to build an integrated national community.
