The Catholic Extremists

Household Saints is an Italian American genre that symbolically tells the story of two women. Although they are mother and daughter, Catherine and Theresa differ in character from one extreme to the other. The story of the Italian American women is told through a somewhat formalistic narrative. The film begins with the focus on Catherine and the “message receivers” are manipulated when the spotlight turns to daughter Theresa. This movie focuses on a story of religious and superstitious Italian culture.
The first story is based on the mother Catherine who is won by Joseph Santangelo during a card game with her father.
