Though there are no official statistics, many researchers and journalists have posited views stating that the generation of today is becoming overly materialistic and has lost sight of realistic goals and values such as ambition and hard work. This can be seen, to some extent, in Jamaica as many teens do not take school seriously and have very little or no ambition or aspirations.
