AIDS formerly known as acquired immune deficiency syndrome is a set of symptoms and infections resulting from the damage to the human immune system caused by HIV (human immunodeficiency virus). HIV can be transmitted through direct contact of a mucous membrane, unprotected sex, during pregnancy (exchange from the mother to baby), breastfeeding, and bodily fluids like blood, semen, and vaginal fluid.
In the movie “Philadelphia,” it deals with the disability AIDS when no a lot was known about the disease. The movie starts with the story Andrew Beckett (Tom Hanks) a senior associate of a large law firm in Philadelphia who happens to be a homosexual who suffers from AIDS. Andrew discloses his sexual orientation from the law firm. When assigned the firms newest and most important case, crucial documents to the case at the last minute are misplaced and Andrew is fired for his incompetence.
