Paranoid personality disorder can be explained as a psychiatric diagnosis in which a person may have an ongoing suspiciousness and mistrust for others. Someone who is paranoid is said to have constant anxiety or fear, often to the point of delusion and irrationality. A personality disorders is a mental disorder characterized by severe and continuing patterns of feelings, thoughts and behaviors. According to Linda Lebelle, when the behavior is inflexible, maladaptive, and antisocial, then that individual is diagnosed with a personality disorder. A person with paranoid personality disorder tends to be very serious and lacks a sense of humor.
