As we get older, most of us will experience temporary memory lapse. We may forget names or telephone numbers and have difficulty finding the right word, which can be annoying, but not life threatening. More serious memory problems and behavioral changes that interfere with life are not normal and may indicate a brain disease called alzheimers or dementia. Dementia is a brain disorder that seriously affects a persons ability to carry out daily activities.
