Whether in the form of a man, women, or beast an exemplar has been widely used to instruct on codes of morality and ethics. When used in the form of a person an exemplar is made into an example for others to imitate. Jesus Christ, one of the most well known exemplars is portrayed as almost a god among men. His life through Christian thought is set to be what all people should strive to be. What would Jesus Do? (WWJD) bracelets are present forms of this imitation by asking one’s self what would Jesus do in the situation and then acting accordingly. An exemplar through trials and tribulations shows what one must do to live a morally just life. Much like our definition of a hero the exemplar morally instructs by selfless acts, respect for others, and undying courage.
