World War II

The Second World War started in 1939. Therefore we could not lose the important facts that occurred in this year and were relevant for the development of not only the war but also for the 40’s.

The world was already sensing the war before it’s official beginning in 1939.That happened because Germany had conquered the Austria in March 1938 and areas near the Rhein River in 1939. This was called the “Anschluss”, the annex of Austria without opposition. Hitler also wanted to have the west of Czechoslovakia because there were many Germans since the end of the First World War there. To avoid a dangerous war between Germany, Czechoslovakia and France, that had an alliance, the primer minister of England Chamberlain intervened diplomatically. But it was Mussolini that avoided the beginning of the war. Germany, France and England made a settlement of no war between them and obligated Czechoslovakia to give the west part to Germany.
