Club Drugs
The current increase in nightclubs, bars, and raves, which have become easily accessible to the teenage population today, has posed a critical problem and a new form of drug addiction. Although not everyone who attends these “trance sessions” choose to use the drugs, many adolescents have become fascinated with their low cost and the intoxicating highs that are said to increase their rave experience. Unfortunately, over the past couple of years, the expansion of the use of these drugs by teenagers attending these all night dance parties has drastically increased.
There are two kinds of drugs: beneficial drugs, which are usually prescribed, and illegal drugs, which are usually abused. Today, an estimated sixteen million people in the United States are drug abusers. “The most common drugs used at clubs today are called hallucinogens, most commonly known as ecstasy and LSD.” (Hyde, 38) Hallucinogens are drugs, also known as “psychedelic drugs,”......
