Summary:
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia, a general term for the loss of memory and other intellectual abilities serious enough to interfere with daily life. Today, there are as many as five million Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease. Our brain contains 100 billion nerve cells called neurons. Each of the brain cells communicate with other brain cells, which in return forms what is called nerve cell networks. Each nerve cell network has its own special job. Some of the nerve cell networks involve thinking, learning, and remembering. Others tell our muscles when to move. To do their work, brain cells operate like tiny little factories, taking in supplies, generating energy, construct equipment, and get rid of waste. These cells also process and......
