Abstract
The popular saying, that when you train the child, you train the nation, is not only true for the child but also for the trainers of the child. Mothers or females are the foundation of children’s training. This paper describes the Psycho-social role of the mother, the influence of mother’s level of literacy on the children, MDGs, female literacy levels in the World, in Nigeria and in Northern Nigeria. It is believed that if free education for female child is provided, the level of literacy will rise and MDG target would be reached. Consequently, when the level of illiteracy is reduced or 100 percent literacy is attained amongst the female populace, children’s literacy level would not only rise concomitantly, the home environment, which is under the influence of the woman, would enhance children’s......
