1 Why is this topic of interest to you? A good friend of mine that I have known for a quite a while was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder when we were just sophomores in high school. She would have unusual mood shifts and would act quite odd at times and everybody would wonder why? I decided to have a talk with her and found out that she had been seeing a doctor for evaluation and that she may have the Bipolar disorder. I was shocked and immediately took it to my hands to be with her in her time of need. She then explained to me that she indeed had the disorder and would like for me to tell our friends what she had been going through. I knew nothing of the brain disease and so I decided to study what the symptoms were and what caused them which is how I learned to be with her and explain what it was to others. Having this knowledge has helped me understand her and by studying this disorder as my topic I can indeed learn even more and be there to support her even better in the future.......
