Abstract

Puritanism in America has been deeply influenced by Calvinism which is raised by the theory of John Calvin, a French theologian. At the beginning of settlements and migration in the North America, Puritanism ethics were of utmost importance and they played a fairly important role in the later period of American history.

But every coin has two sides. Although the positive significance of Puritanism shouldn’t be ignored, there’s no doubt that it has some historical limitations and negative effects.
