Term Paper on Sexuality

Sexuality education is a lifelong process of acquiring information and forming

attitudes, beliefs, and values. It encompasses "sexual development, reproductive health,

interpersonal relationships, affection, intimacy, body image, and gender roles. Because many

parents do not feel comfortable or knowledgeable to discuss sexuality with their children, they

rely on schools, religious institutions, social networks, and media to do so. But many state and

federal education funding policies limit sexual health curricula for moral and political reasons,

and media sources often promote misinformation that can even contribute to early sexual activity

among adolescents (Cohen, Rebeca J., Spring 2008).
