The Saint whom I most admire is St. Rita

Not being Catholic and before taking this course, being completely ignorant of the religion as a whole, I did not have a favorite saint growing up or even one I seemed to connect with as an adult. Before this class I assumed that Catholics openly went against one of the commandment that all Christian hold dear and that is to “not have any other gods before me”. I assumed that they idolized the saints and put them before God himself. But after much research I realized that Catholic saints are not people whom they have put in front to God but rather people who they honor greatly for the miraculous works for God that they have accomplished. After reading over 30 biographies of the different Catholic saints I came back to the very first biography that I read, the biography for Saint Rita.
Saint Rita was born in Italy in 1381. She was an only child and knew from a very early age that she was called to serve the Lord and become a nun.......
