Legal Issues in the Workforce
Fast Serve Inc. is a $25 million, a 350 person company involved with marketing of branded sports apparel. Fast Serve opened up two online marketing and distribution channels. 10 % of its workforce was moved to manage the online distribution. After the website went live, technology became problematic for Fast Serve. The 3-D drape-n-see mannequins was not as successful as anticipated. As a result, the online division had to be downsized. Five candiates have been identified and as a senior management I must layoff three individuals from the five identified. This is not a easy decision and rationalizing who stays and goes is challenging. This paper will examine how I came upon my decision.
