The health care system as it stands right now has flaws. A lot of people are falling through the cracks. As the number of people without health care coverage escalates, we are less able to meet even the most basic of needs for what is being estimated as 27 percent of our population that either have no insurance or are underinsured. Our system is by far the most expensive per capita in the world. We are the wealthiest nation on this planet, so therefore it seems only fitting that we would spend the most. But what are we getting for this?
Should the United States adopt a Universal Health coverage system? Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, and in the United States Hawaii, all use a system of health care that is universal, comprehensive, and private. In, 1993, President Clinton proposed a plan for universal health insurance. Since then opponents have managed to oppress the plan while assuring the public that while they supported the idea in principle, they just wanted to package it......
