Alumina, Inc., a manufacture of aluminum is a multi- billion-dollar company with business interests in automotive components, packaging material, bauxite mining, alumina refining and aluminum smelting. With operations in eight countries around the world, Alumina’ s primary business is based in the United States, which accounts for 70% of its sales (University of Phoenix, 2008). However, in light of Alumina’s lucrative position within its’ industry, its business practices, like all businesses are subjected to both legal and regulatory compliances that are mandated by state and federal government.
