We are now, as a global culture, on the verge of changing the way we produce architecture. Building Information Modeling is now transforming the way architectural practices function and collaborate around the world. It tries to integrate design and production for the benefit of reducing time. The process in which we now design and build architecture is the verge of disappearing. Still the debate exists as to whether or not BIM is the answer to this digital movement. However, the substitution of BIM for earlier methods of 2D and 3D representation seems to be too sudden and the consequences not completely analyzed.
What is the affect of BIM in the architecture field and what are the benefits and drawbacks of a non-model based process in the conception of architectural design? Thus far everything I have come across relating to BIM seems to be......
