It seems that in recent years the infomercial has sprang into mainstream television and now litters viewer’s daily programming. Infomercials are the basis for many television based shopping experiences. This essay will be a critical analysis of the “Magic Bullet” infomercial, using the dramatistic (Burkeian) search model. First I will describe the “Magic Bullet” and its relevance to the use of the search model. The next step of this essay will be to describe the use of the Burkeian search model, the Pentad and how it applies to this infomercial. The “Magic Bullet” is a twenty-one piece blender set that can be used on a kitchen counter top. It is designed to be easy to use and the infomercial is designed to convey its easy use. Its design is smaller than that of a traditional blender and it takes up less counter space.......
