“Is Forgetting of dreams due to repression? Experimental investigation using free association.” Is the article I have decided to evaluate for my essay. This article has a lot of similarity concerning numerous topics discussed in class. The main concept of this article is Repression which we have covered very well in class. Repression is a defense mechanism which keeps inacceptable thoughts in the unconscious. This experiment is very important under my understanding because most people don’t remember dream that they had or important information from the dream. They only remember if awoken during REM sleep or just waking up from the dream but then it is lost. This is why I feel that this article is very important because most experiment will use repression to recover people’s dreams.
