Are We Born As or Born to Become?

There has been the constant debate between Nature vs. Nurture. Whether it is our upbringing and environment or just genetics. This debate has been going on for decades and unfortunately scientists are no closer to resolving the argument.
So what is the big argument on nature vs. nurture? What is nature or nurture even? If you believe that you were born already with a personality then you may take the side of nurture. But it you believe that your personality was developed based on your influences in the beginning when you were a young child then you believe in nurture. They are two totally different aspects, but both are believed to make us who we are.
