The book Animal Farm is just one of many novels that George Orwell wrote, and it is likely to be the most controversial. It is about animals that try to defeat an unruly tyrant by the name of Mr. Jones. The overworked, mistreated animals’ goal is to bring down Jones and take over the farm for themselves. The book is actually a story based loosely on the events that happened during the Russian Revolution. Topics such as communism, propaganda, and Marxism are used in the book. Animal Farm is said to be a satire because it is an attack on the Stalinist Russia. The animals in the book all represent different people, groups, or concepts that had an active part in the Russian Revolution. In Animal Farm, the character Mr. Jones most closely represents Czar Nicholas II.
