The Vedas are the principle texts of Hinduism. They are among the most ancient religious texts still in existence. They have also had an immense influence in other religions like Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism. There has been much controversy as to where the texts originated. Some scholars believe that the texts are a product of ancient Aryans. Others argued that the Vedas originated in Indian, based on the contents of the texts. There is no definite answer as to where these texts initiated.
The Vedas are comprised of sacrificial formulas, melodies, and magic from ancient Indian. There are four Vedas, the Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda and Atharva Veda. The Rig Veda sometimes called the Book of Mantra is considered the oldest of the Vedas. The Rig Veda is most essential. It is separated into two books, mandalas, and has 1028 hymns in praise of various deities, these included Indra, Agni, Vishnu, Rudra, and other early gods.
