A Raisin in the Sun

Having recently read the play “A Raisin in the Sun”, I was eager to see the film version of this story. The film didn't really live up to my expectations. The movie “A Raisin in the Sun”, really brought Loraine Hansberry's play to life on the screen for me, but there were some crucial things that where missing. The story revolves around a life insurance check that is due to arrive to the Younger family for the death of Walter Lee Younger's father. The Younger family includes Walter Lee (chauffeur), his wife (who works in other people's homes cleaning and ironing), his young son, his mother (who works in other people's homes), and his sister (who is in medical school); they are a poor black family and share a tiny apartment in Chicago; all have a different vision of how to spend the insurance money. As Walter dreams bigger and bigger he seems to leave the “smaller”' things, such as his family......
