There have been many papers written on the phenomenon known as the Wal~Mart culture. This company has been both praised and maligned in the financial and general news. They are loved by stockholders and despised by unions. As a former employee of this company, I have decided that it was a perfect choice for this paper.

“Good Old Sam”

Sam Walton, the founder of Wal~Mart, was a simple man with grand vision. He challenged the idea that people in small towns had to pay more for quality products. In Arkansas and many other states, poorer and smaller communities were paying higher prices for merchandise that was readily available in the larger cities. It was not unusual for a family to spend an entire day going from grocery store to pharmacy to clothing store to hardware store to specialty store in order to complete a week’s worth of shopping.
