Veronika Decides to Die is a contemporary novel with an innovative plot that is undoubtedly avant-garde. Each character in the book plays an essential role and they have key contributions in forming the story’s notable and surprising twists. The story unfolds in a Slovenian town called Ljubljana. This is where the 24-year old Veronika leads her pleasing life with her tender family, casual men and sufficient job. Despite having these things which a usual youthful girl would cherish, Veronika still views her life in a negative perception. For her, it lacks of depth and meaning. That is why one cold day in November; she decides to take away her own life.

Even into the first early pages of the book, one could already sense an air of peculiarity that is extremely enticing to a reader.
