Introduction: Airbus today stands tall as one of the world’s two leading aircraft manufacturers. It employs 56,000 people and produces a comprehensive range of commercial aircraft renowned for their efficiency, innovation, economy and safety. In the recent years Airbus has regularly delivered more aircraft’s than its rival and consistently booked at least half of all new orders. And it also captured the imagination of the world with A380- the biggest airline ever built and which is setting new standards in the aviation Industry.

But less than 40 years ago many said Airbus would never succeed its competitors domination was so strong that any attempt to challenge would bound to fail. And furthermore the idea of wide body jet that would carry passengers between 250 and 300 on just two engines was seen as far-fetched by some.
