Building self-esteem in children is one of the most important contributions to their mental health. Children with good self-esteem usually have the following characteristics: act independently, assume responsibility, take pride in their accomplishments, tolerate frustration, handle peer pressure, and attempt new tasks and challenges. Anyone who influence the child on a daily bases should watch what they say. Kids are very sensitive to adults’ words. Remember to praise the child not only for a job well done, but also for effort.
