To Kill A Mockingbird:
Chapter 3 Analysis
Chapter 3 of To Kill A Mockingbird is probably one of the most significant chapters in the novel. The chapter begins at the school where Scout is fighting Walter Cunningham. Jem stopped scout and asked her why she was beating him up. She explained that her teacher got angry at her after she tried to explain that Walter couldn’t accept any money since he wouldn’t be able to pay her back. Jem apologizes to Walter and invite him over for lunch, Walter is reluctant until Jem assures him that their fathers are friends. While eating lunch, Walter and Atticus talk about farming and Jem and Scout think that Walter sounds like an adult because he knows so much about it. Walter covers his entire lunch with molasses and Scout doesn’t understand why so she yells at him saying that he ruined is lunch, Atticus tells her to stop but she continues until Calpurnia takes her into the kitchen. Calpurnia tells her that it doesn’t matter what he does......
