Friedrich Gauss, born Johann Carl Friedrich Gauss, was one of the most brilliant German mathematicians is history. From birth Gauss’s father was able to see that he was smart. However, what Gauss is know for it the problem, “There It Lies”. Gauss also discovered and published many thermos and conjectures. Gauss was by far one of the most decorated mathematicians ever.
Friedrich Gauss was born on April 30, 1777 in Brunswick, Germany. At the age of three Gauss had single handedly taught himself how to read and write. Unlike his poor, needy, unintelligent family Gauss was intrigued by knowledge and constantly strived to achieve greatness throughout his childhood. At the age of fourteen Gauss received a scholarship from the Duke of Brunswick so he could peruse his educational career. However this is not what made Friedrich Gauss’s childhood know.
