The topic of this paper is terrestrial resources. These are resources of the land; which include mountains, valleys, trees, plants and the land itself. This paper is going to focus on an environmental problem that not only affects land resources, but water and air resources as well. This problem not only affects every one of us on the planet, but is caused by every one of us on this planet. The problem is the amount of solid waste in our ever growing population. Solid waste can be broken down into two major categories; municipal waste and non municipal waste.
Non municipal waste is waste that is produced from mining, agricultural, and industry. Municipal waste is derived from residential and commercial areas. This paper is going to focus on municipal wastes; the wastes that we as residents and businesses put into our land.
