In today’s society there is little known about Australian indigenous medicine and healing. In the traditional way of life, the knowledge was retained within each tribe. There were no written records or studies conducted. Perhaps one way of the knowledge being retained was through the ‘medicine man’ in the tribe. The ‘medicine man’ in the tribe held the power.

One of the strengths is that this has been around for thousands of years. It has worked and been practiced for thousands of years. Maybe the fact that it is natural and not conventional could attract people who are into natural healing methods to this and may want to learn about it and use it.

Weaknesses would be that there is not much knowledge about it, there is no evidence based practice, there is not much research, no studies conducted etc. Lots of the knowledge is still held within groups that are associated with this medicine and healing and to find out more need to contact these groups for further......
