The pictures on page 169-170 in our text book are beyond my wildest dreams. They are very shocking and quite sad. These pictures of a young woman falling to her death are a real jaw-dropper. Obviously a fire happened in this woman’s apartment building, and a fireman was trying to rescue both her and a young child while on the fire escape. He failed miserably. The pictures of both the woman and child are the most devastating; because everybody witnessing this knew that it could be the end for both her and the child. It is so much going on in the pictures, so much detail. You can see flower pots falls from the unreliable fire escape. You can see the smoke pouring out the windows, and the window screen not in the window. And oh, the faces of the victims are horrific. Looking at this, you can feel the pain of these victims. Luckily the child lived, but only because he had landed on the fallen body of the young woman who hit just seconds before he. The photographer obviously didn’t......
