Abstract -Nowadays I have newly moved to the US to start my study. There’s one thing I realized very different from where I was from. In China , the most popular C2C(Customer to Customer ) auction website is undoubtedly Taobao, while in the US the majority of people prefer EBay. It aroused my curiosity what did EBay do to invade the rapidly developing and tremendous market and how the story went on. In this term project , I try to investigate and ananlyze the following problems: the history of the two competitors eBay and Taobao(searching for treasure in mandarin) in Chinese market; the competition of both sides; the deciding factors of triumph in different periods; finally make a conclusion and estimation of Chinse C2C future.
